Hi, to all here, I searched several forums for this couple of weeks, but nobody (maybe not lucky) give a simple steps on how to play an AAC+ stream from Shoutcast using Flash on a website. Well finally I got it to work and I am now using it on my website
www.whooshstream.com , on this tutorial I used OtsAV as my music player.
I used OtsAV music player on this tutorial you can download it from here
www.otsav.comHere are steps on how:
1. Download and install Shoutcast DNAS, you can get it from here
http://www.shoutcast.com/download , (this assumed that you don't have shoutcast server).
2. Download and install on your Ots folder Edcast DSP for Winamp, you can get it from here
http://www.oddsock.org/tools/edcast/ ,also download the AAC+ encoder as suggested by edcast during installation, you can get AAC+ encoder from here
http://pessoal.onda.com.br/rjamorim/libfaac.zip , NOTE: shoutcast DSP using AAC encoder does not work so use Edcast instead.
3. Download and install the FREE version of Wowza Media Server from here
http://www.wowzamedia.com/ , they require you to register to get a serial code for installation of Wowza Media Server.
4. Start your Shoutcast DNAS located at C:\Program Files\SHOUTcast\sc_serv.exe , this will start your shoutcast server on your local pc with default address
http://localhost:80005. Start your OtsAV or OtsDJ, on the menu click Options->Shoutcast->Set Plugins and browse the Edcast DSP (dsp_edcast.dll) usually it is located at C:\OtsLabs\Winamp\Plugins
6. Activate the Edcast DSP by checking the OtsAV or OtsDJ menu click Options->Shoutcast->Shoutcast enabled
7. On the Edcast DSP click add encoder and double click the newly created encoder, under the basic settings on the encoder type dropdown selection select the AAC encoder , on server ip enter "localhost" and for the port enter "8000" on the password enter the default password "changeme"
8. After all the above software has been configured fire up the Wowza Media server, browse their sample flash player on the sample folder usually (C:\Program Files\Wowza Media Systems\Wowza Media Server Pro 1.7.0\examples\SHOUTcast) and run the install.bat
9. From the sample for shoutcast located at C:\Program Files\Wowza Media Systems\Wowza Media Server Pro 1.7.0\examples\SHOUTcast\client , double click the shoutcast.html and on the shoutcast server field enter
rtmp://localhost/shoutcast and on the URL field enter :
http://localhost:8000 and click play
Note: The FREE version of Wowza Media server has a maximum of 10 listeners only.
Thats all, if you have question, just continue on this thread.
